WWMLKJD?

As I sit here listening to Martin Luther King Jr. speak, Madeline recognizes his voice and his face. Here is what she just told me. “Hey, I know him. He was a really nice guy. He cared a lot about people. He was good. It’s sad that he died.”As I sit here listening to Martin Luther King Jr. speak, Madeline recognizes his voice and his face. And now as I wipe tears from my eyes, listening to my sweet daughter tell me everything she has learned about MLK and what he fought so hard for. I will keep doing my best to teach her to take up the same fight. To stand up for justice for all people. To defend those whose voices continue to be silenced. To be kind. Always. To be a good friend and to love people with every fiber of her being. I will continue to make sure that we do everything we can to be the change and to help raise a generation that truly will love and accept all people.

I agree so much with these words from Dr. King. I always believe that a peaceful protest is the best solution, but it is easy to see why there is looting and violence. When your voice is continually silenced. When your power is continually stripped away. When your peaceful protests and silent bended knee is not accepted, what other choice are you given than to be loud.
