Chalkboard Dust

I made a chalkboard!

So fun and so easy.  I used the same recipe that you can find on pretty much every Pinterest board.  Mix 1/2 cup acrylic paint in any color you wish with 1 tablespoon of unsanded grout (I bought the smallest container available at Lowes, it was only like $5 and I’m pretty sure I’ll have enough to make as many chalkboards as I could ever want in a lifetime).  That’s it.  You just paint it on your surface – I used a wooden board from Hobby Lobby.  Let it dry.  You may need two coats, I did.  Once its dry you need to “slate” the chalkboard by rubbing a piece of chalk across the whole surface and then erase it and your new chalkboard is ready to go.
